New Brighton head coach Fabian Herzeler knows he is young. And has not been too aggressive in his approach. Having just added three more players ahead of the 2024 pre-season football.

Herzeler, who is just 31 has no experience coaching a major European league abroad. And has therefore opted to strengthen his backline by bringing in 38-year-old Jonas Scheumann as assistant head coach. Having been familiar with the same role at Augsburg since 2017 BrightonUFABET

Next up is 45-year-old Marco Noub, who is a goalkeeping coach with experience working with several European clubs. Including Fenerbahce, Nordsjaelland and Herzeler’s former club, St. Pauli.

Finally, there is Max Lesser, a 29-year-old tactical analyst who made his name in the industry. As head of formation analysis for Ajax Amsterdam and Stuttgart.

The club’s administration has now sent a notice of employment to the UK Foreign Office. And is only waiting for the approval of a work visa in the UK, so they can legally start work this weekend.

Heseler decided to hang up his boots for good on December 6, 2022 to take on the role of caretaker manager of St. Pauli and just two weeks later, he was officially appointed as manager of St. Pauli and helped the team to promotion to the German top flight after the end of the 2023/24 season.
